About Mishnaica
Sources & method.
Mishnaica is a non-commercial Textia project for browsing and comparing Mishnah manuscripts. This pilot includes 572 images from Cambridge University Library, the British Library and the University of Pennsylvania.
The eRabbinica transcription covers Bava Qamma 1:1–4 on Cambridge Add.470.1, folio 106r. It is a published source, not our machine recognition; its line numbers are editorial, not aligned image coordinates. Image and transcription licences are credited separately.
Raw Kraken recognition completed for 570 of 572 images. Two Cambridge captures failed: 177v and the back cover. Original outputs and failure records are retained. Accepted passage locations are validated separately.
The aligned pages use source-bound Kraken recognition and an independently checked Mishnah reference. Page text locates each accepted passage on the image. The diplomatic transcription remains a separately credited source and is not a reconstructed word overlay.
